Natural wedding photography at The Matara Centre

Venue: The Matara Centre I recently documented a wedding at The Matara Centre in the beautiful Cotswold village of Kingscote on an absolutely freezing cold day!

Each year I do three or four weddings at The Matara, it's a truly unique place to get married with many interesting angles and perspectives to work from. Andy and Anna had their church ceremony just five minutes down the road in the same Gloucestershire village which kept things nice and simple.

Dear Allister,

A big thank you for the pictures, they are exactly what we were after and really capture the informal feel of the day. Everyone in wedding party (particularly the families) enjoyed your company and unobtrusive style.

The photos have a timeless feel and provide a lovely record to remember this freezing cold January day for many years to come. We wish you every success in the future.

Andy and Anna

The whole day had a very relaxed, family-orientated feel which was incredibly nice to work in. I also had Chris Burnell photographing alongside me - I've been giving Chris tuition and guidance recently so it was really pleasing to see just how many images made it into the final cut. Well done Chris!

Below are just a few of my very favourites from the coverage provided.

Tariq & Alexandria's Narnia themed wedding at Aynhoe Park

Venue: Aynhoe Park

"We're so thrilled with the final images of our wedding day.

"Every stage of the day has been shot beautifully, we're especially delighted that you managed to capture those intimate and emotional moments that are so special to us.

Your professionalism and discreet manner made all the photography natural and un-staged - exactly what we had hoped for."

Tariq and Alexandria

Tariq and Alexandria planned an incredible wedding at the jaw-droppingly offbeat, eccentric and altogether fantastic Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire.

The amount of snow that fell during the previous night and on the wedding day itself meant that over half the wedding guests couldn't make it, let alone many of the suppliers. I only just managed to get to the wedding venue, which took me four hours instead of the usual one.

As pretty and enchanting as the snow was, especially during a Narnia themed wedding, it was surprising how little natural light there was. This was both good and bad. Bad, because we couldn't get outside for any portraiture, which would have been stunning. But really, very good, because the ambient light inside the venue came alive - it was intensified; rich colours, tones and structures which just added to Aynhoe's spectacular theatrical settings.

Therefore, even though Alexandria and Tariq's wedding couldn't go as planned, and I really felt for them, the wedding was nothing short of spectacular.

Allister

As I’m sure you’ll have gathered from our reactions when we came to see our wedding photographs, both Helen and I are thrilled with what you did for us.

You are a master at anticipating and capturing moments and emotions and telling a story with every picture. On top of this, you manage to make each image a thoughtful and interesting composition and a piece of art in it’s own right. I know from experience the talent that this takes to pull off.

You were great to have around on the day too with just the right level of presence at all times. We’ve enjoyed getting to know you and couldn’t be happier that we chose you to document our big day.

All the best

Paul and Helen Williams

This wedding meant a lot to me, in fact I think it'll take a while before it's knocked off my current list of favourite weddings to document. Not only did Paul and Helen have a pretty incredible wedding for me to document but Paul is also a professional wedding photographer, so I felt truly privileged to be documenting the wedding at St Audries Park in Somerset - a magnificent venue.

Below are just a few of my favourites from this beautifully subtle wedding in Somerset..

As always, I'd love to read your comments...
