Bodleian Library Wedding | Sarah and Nick

I photographed Sarah and Nick’s wedding in the beautiful city of Oxford last season. 

Their traditional wedding ceremony took place in Exeter College Chapel - a truly breathtaking building. 

A super-relaxed champagne reception at the Bodleian Libraries ensued; a venue I’m especially proud to be associated with. This was shortly followed by some great speeches and a fantastic party.

Sarah and Nick’s wedding had a little mention in The Times newspaper earlier this year, then a more comprehensive write-up on Love My Dress.

Our photographer was Allister Freeman. We knew we wanted a documentary-style approach to our photography. We’ve been to so many weddings where posed portraits take up hours of the couple and family’s time. We really wanted to experience our reception and capture the natural moments of the day as they unfolded.

Al is a joy to work with and put us at ease throughout the day. He was so unobtrusive, several people asked us if we had even had a photographer at the reception! I’m not sure how he managed to be in so many places at once, but we are so grateful to have benefited from his amazing talent.

Allister’s photos stood out to us when we were searching for a photographer. Even knowing the quality of his work beforehand, we couldn’t have expected the stunning photographs that Allister created for us. The emotion in each image is palpable and takes us right back to little moments throughout the day.

Allister, you’re so very laid back and have a great ability to be in a room unnoticed and catching some amazing, candid wedding pictures of everyone. 

I have several friends who are wedding photographers and they have all commented on how impressed they were with the pictures you’ve created. 

You caught all of the moments and people that we could have hoped for. The photographs really are beautiful. 

I know the cost of a good wedding photographer seems expensive, initially. But it’s really worth it, the images you’ve created will last a lifetime.

I photographed Chloe and Tom’s beautiful wedding at the utterly captivating Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire.

Shortly after their civil ceremony in the Orangery, they had a champagne drinks reception followed by a wedding breakfast and some speeches.
