Linda & Ade | St Paul's Cathedral + Hello!

The very nature of a blog means that weddings (and things like lovely customer reviews) get pushed further and further back…

With covid lingering and many a wedding-plan scuppered, it’s been a perfect opportunity to go back and visit some particularly memorable weddings of recent years.

Here’s Linda and Ade’s day that took place in a beautifully sunny, covid-free London circa August 2018.

They were very fortunate to have their ceremony held in St Paul’s Cathedral - followed by a trip along the Thames to their reception at The Queen’s House in Greenwich.

I think it’s important I say I was really nervous about picking a wedding photographer, my mum was a professional photographer and working in the public eye and I’ve worked with a lot of different styles of photographers.

As much as I loved Allister in person and loved his work on the website, I was still anxious to see how the photos would turn out - I’m very particular and not very easy to please!

With that in mind, I’ve been utterly blown away looking through the 300+ photos.

I never imagined that photographs could make me cry so much but it felt like I was re-living our day and it was just so beautiful.

From the moment we started speaking you’ve been a breeze. Responsive, understanding and easy-going. We wanted photography that interpreted the emotions and vibrance of the wedding day authentically, and you’ve absolutely mastered that!

Allister, not only did you capture the intimate moments of our wedding day, but those moments were beautifully framed and focussed, you have such a great eye and talent for post-production too because the colours, tones and textures are gorgeous and natural throughout.

You made us feel so utterly relaxed, something that really comes across in the images. You’re a truly experienced and extraordinarily talented photographer and artist, thank you again!

By working with me you won’t be made to pose, jump, dance, twirl or otherwise play up to the camera.

You focus on relaxing and I'll make the timeless and authentic images.

I’ve been a professional London wedding photographer since 2004, photographing hundreds of weddings and portrait commissions internationally; my style has developed into a distinct form of natural and honest coverage.

Gins Barn Wedding | Erin & Kris

"These are just mind-blowing!

I barely remember much of the day, such a blur. These photos have been the most emotional way to relive the day. They're just incredible, we’re so grateful..."

From a super-relaxed engagement shoot in the beautiful Savernake Forest on the outskirts of Marlborough in Wiltshire, to an incredible wedding at Gins Barn on the banks of the River Beaulieu in Dorset…

"Wow wow WOW!

I’ve been so nervous about photography, for no other reason than I am a very self-conscious person.

I can't even put into words how amazing these are.

"Wedding photography is so personal, I knew I was going to feel apprehensive about.

But I knew I had chosen an incredibly talented photographer too, and our photographs proved just that.

The day passed in a whirlwind blur yet the beautiful images captured every moment; every laugh, every tear perfectly.

We will be looking obsessively at these images, reliving the day for many years to come, feeling wonderfully  spoilt to have such photographs from the day."

There were some photos I could have only dreamed to have - low and behold there they are.

We are extremely lucky and there really is no thank you big enough, we're just over the moon."

Bodleian Library Wedding | Sarah and Nick

I photographed Sarah and Nick’s wedding in the beautiful city of Oxford last season.

Their traditional wedding ceremony took place in Exeter College Chapel - a truly breathtaking building.

A super-relaxed champagne reception at the Bodleian Libraries ensued; a venue I’m especially proud to be associated with. This was shortly followed by some great speeches and a fantastic party.

Sarah and Nick’s wedding had a little mention in The Times newspaper earlier this year, then a more comprehensive write-up on Love My Dress.

Our photographer was Allister Freeman. We knew we wanted a documentary-style approach to our photography. We’ve been to so many weddings where posed portraits take up hours of the couple and family’s time. We really wanted to experience our reception and capture the natural moments of the day as they unfolded.

Al is a joy to work with and put us at ease throughout the day. He was so unobtrusive, several people asked us if we had even had a photographer at the reception! I’m not sure how he managed to be in so many places at once, but we are so grateful to have benefited from his amazing talent.

Allister’s photos stood out to us when we were searching for a photographer. Even knowing the quality of his work beforehand, we couldn’t have expected the stunning photographs that Allister created for us. The emotion in each image is palpable and takes us right back to little moments throughout the day.
