Wedding Culzean Castle in Ayrshire | Mischa & Laura

Mischa and Laura commissioned me to be the wedding photographer for their amazing wedding which took place at the breathtaking Culzean Castle in Ayrshire which they exclusively hired over a weekend last summer. Culzean overlooks the Isle of Arran where I actually got married ten years previously. I usually try and visit the area every few years but just haven't had the opportunity recently, so this was really quite a special wedding for me.

The weather was amazing and other than the famous midges of the west coast of Scotland (which ate us alive), Mischa and Laura's outdoor humanist ceremony went without a hitch.

The pace and nature of the day become faster and more energetic as it progressed into the evening - with no less than three bands (and amazing bands at that) playing into the early hours.

Wedding Photography in Soho, London | Mark & Gemma

I love Mark and Gemma's London wedding photography, such a relaxed and enjoyable day. What makes this sort of day particularly fun, for me at least, is that it's all on foot which forces me to travel light. Just the two small Fuji cameras together with two small primes lenses, that's it. No huge flashguns or cumbersome kitbags, just a simple but very effective approach. What's more, I looked more like a guest than a wedding photographer, this meant I was able to get even closer to the action.

I met with Mark outside Thirst cafe before going to Dean Street Townhouse for Gemma's bridal preparations - Dean Street is a boutique hotel in Soho which comprises of two large (and stunning) Georgian townhouses.

Gemma and Mark's humanist ceremony took place at The University Women's Club in Audley Square - another spectacular venue but one that is also steeped in history. Humanist ceremonies are great and I got to work with the brilliant humanist celebrant Ginny Collins again. I'm documenting more humanist ceremonies every year and they're such a personal way to conduct a ceremony.

After a short drinks reception, we all jumped on an old route master to get to the third and final venue, The Union Club in Soho. Uber cool.
