I’m Allister Freeman, a professional Buckinghamshire wedding photographer with almost two decades of experience, welcome to my Compleat Angler wedding photography page.
Compleat Angler in Marlow, Buckinghamshire is a pretty unique hotel/restaurant type venue situated right on the banks of the Thames.
It’s a wonderful location with lovely views right over the water and down to the Wharf just a hundred or so metres away. You can take full advantage of the various rooms to hold your civil ceremony or simply hold your wedding breakfast here – the nearest church being literally just across the water opposite the venue.
With brilliant transport links and friendly staff, coupled with unique features like the dedicated wedding boats for a private sail down the river and this is certainly one of the more quirky and interesting venues for your big day!
Ross and Nilam’s wedding at the Compleat Angler was an amazing mix of East and West. Ross’s Scottish roots saw kilts and bagpipes whereas Nilam’s Asian roots saw Sari’s and Sitars. What an incredible riot of colour and sound!
Even in the 10 years I’ve been shooting weddings this one stand out as being unique. Already at the fairly unique riverside venue of The Compleat Angler, the site of a Kilted Bagpiper rubbing shoulders with Sitar players will stay with me for a while!
There was so much to see and photograph at this wedding that the images just kept flowing effortlessly. I’ve selected just a few of my favourite wedding photos to share in the gallery below. It’ll give you a great overview of the day, the venue and my style. Enjoy!
