I’m Allister, a professional London wedding photographer with almost two decades of experience, welcome to my Corinthia Hotel wedding photography page.
The Corinthia Hotel, situated just around the corner from the Charring Cross Underground Station and a hundred meters from the banks of the Thames, is one of central London’s spectacular hotels. It’s only 2 minutes walk from Whitehall and Horse Guards Parade and gives easy access to all of central London’s main sights.
I actually really really like working here. It’s open and fresh and light whilst still having character. These two characteristics combined are actually rare outside of the most opulent of London’s Hotels (like the Landmark for instance).
Will and Fiona’s wedding photography started at The Corinthia Hotel in South West London, The Corinthia is a very new and very exclusive hotel just off the Embankment, it’s nothing short of stunning and I really look forward to working there again.
From there I travelled with Will by cab to The Chelsea Potter pub to meet guests. The whole wedding comprised of no more than fifteen people, so it had a very relaxed and friendly feel.
Our next location was Chelsea Wharf where we embarked on our two hour boat trip along the Thames. I probably do four or five weddings a year on the Thames and they never disappoint!
We finished up on the South Bank which has to be one of my favourite places for a simple walk and shoot. There’s something about the light down there that is just great.
Below is a selection of my favourite photos from all sections of the day, including those at the Corinthia Hotel.
Their website introduces itself by saying “An unrivalled welcome in the heart of London” - and with an unmistakable exterior, it’s not hard to see why. The Corinthia London’s team ‘vow’ to ensure your day is nothing less than extraordinary, with dedicated wedding specialist Alexandra Pisani and her team taking you through every aspect of your day, right from the beginning until the midnight end.
I’ve been shooting weddings since 2004, specialising in a documentary style of photography. My style relies less on me directing you as a couple, requesting unnatural poses and taking you away from special once-in-a-lifetime moments, but instead I focus on being as unobtrusive as possible, capturing candid moments as they happen - and sometimes even leaving your wedding guests wondering if there was a photographer present.
Inside the Corinthia is a range of spaces from the most intimate up to the grandest space for larger celebrations. Starting with the largest venue, The Ballroom is a spectacular space with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows offering a drenching of natural sunlight into the room, finished with draping curtains to frame the light. The ceiling is complete with ornate coving and cornice, leaving space for a dramatic chandelier to sit above the room. With a bold blue and gold flooring, the space has an opulent feel and gives a grand welcome to any newly-married couple.
The Courtroom is the chicest of all rooms inside the Corinthia, with industrial-style black framed glass doors and floor-to-ceiling mirrored panels bouncing light endlessly. The walls are simply styled with a neutral grey tone and white accents, leaving plenty of room for you to make your own mark. An elegant chandelier hangs in the centre of the room, finishing off the modern space.
A series of three packages are available at the Corinthia making your style of wedding easy to pick depending on your needs and budget, giving you one less thing to think about when planning your big day. Take the guess-work out of choosing your suppliers too, and opt for one of the Corinthia’s trusted partners to keep everything seamless and stress-free.
Shooting in an iconic location like the Corinthia is incredibly special as a wedding photographer. Many couples have walked the halls and celebrated their special day within the walls, and finding new and unexpected ways to shoot newly-weds is something I love. By letting couples roam the day as they please, I capture the most intimate and natural of exchanges between guests, resulting in the most timeless, effortless shots which you can cherish for years to come.
