I’m Allister Freeman, a professional Bath wedding photographer with almost two decades of experience, welcome to my Roman Baths wedding photography page.
The Roman Baths in Bath, England, is a truly magical wedding venue, famous since Roman times (and in use long before that) for their warm ‘healing’ waters, visitors have been flocking there for thousands of years, it has to be one of my favourite venues for wedding photography in Bath.
Nowadays, they are a huge tourist attraction with visitors from right across the globe but it’s a lesser-known fact that you can also get married at this totally unique and historic venue. And that’s not just married in some room and then you are out of the door, you and your guests get exclusive use of the site (after hours) and can even turn the main visitor reception hall into an impromptu dance area.
The range of unique and stunning images it’s possible to create at the Roman Baths is almost silly. If the site itself wasn’t good enough, it’s located right next door to Bath Abbey which offers a night-time skyline that you might expect to see in a movie. This is one amazing venue!
Rebecca and Giancarlo were married on a pleasant September day. It was a bit overcast but the soft lighting really showed off the stunning architecture. After the brief wedding ceremony, we all took a walk through town to a waiting London bus. This attracted a few passing tourists on its own, as you’ll see in the wedding photos below.
Bath is a pretty crowded place, especially on a Saturday, so getting on the bus provided a little tranquillity and gave guests some wonderful opportunities to see the city.
As the Roman Bath’s closing time approached and the visitors left, we all moved in to enjoy the incredible atmosphere and history of the place. It’s almost surreal to be in such surroundings at such an occasion! As night fell, the venue just got more and more stunning.
Words aren’t going to do it justice, but suffice to say if you have the chance to get married at the Roman Baths, take it!
