Style, class, and extreme happiness were the main themes that ran through Alice and Edward’s wedding. Although the weather was friendly and stayed dry, an overcast sky offered the best possible light to capture the joy that emanated from these two and their loved ones.
The venue itself was spectacular, featuring old-school Elizabethan and Victorian architecture right from the gate to the buildings, and stunning private gardens that make for beautiful photos. Not to mention the magnificent Elmore Church, which truly is a piece of history, as it dates back to the 13th century.
But back to the happy couple! The bride was radiant in a classic-style dress with a unique lace overlay to cover her shoulders. Beautiful and elegant! The groom looked dashing in a smart waistcoat and gold tie. Sharp dressed guests and sleek classic vehicles really added to the regal atmosphere.
Inside the church, the aura was amazing. Not only could you feel the love these two have for each other, but the architecture of the chapel added something even more special to the day. The beautiful stone curves, wooden pews, stained glass windows made a lovely backdrop to Alice and Edward’s vows.
Despite the reverence within the church, there was a whole lot of excitement and joy, which was evident by not only the smiles that the bride and groom were sneaking to each other, but also the happiness on the faces of each and every guest!
After the couple said their I do’s (and were showered with flower petals by the guests), it was time for a quick photoshoot in the beautiful wildflower gardens and grounds. I was lucky to be able to capture their first documented moments as husband and wife, and they were all smiles!
The reception was held at the Gillyflower, the incredible on-site venue. Slightly different to the majestic feeling in the church and grounds, this marquee is crafted out of timber harvested from the grounds, which gives it a comfortable, rustic feeling.
This is when everyone lets their hair down and really celebrates, and the joyfulness truly comes through in the natural photographs. Special speeches were shared, dancing was enjoyed, the wedding cake was cut in true English style with an old-school cutlass, and the whole event was filled with laughter and love.
It was truly an honour to be able to take part in Alice and Edward’s special day. I see so much love between them and I know their life together will be filled with laughter and adventure!
